Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Tops Demos with "The Little Mermaid Live"

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/5/19):

ABC (7.142 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1) got a big demo boost on Tuesday thanks to "The Wonderful World of Disney Presents The Little Mermaid Live!" (8.978 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) followed by a new "Emergence" (3.471 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6).

NBC (6.605 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then had to settle for second with its trio of "The Voice" (8.112 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T2), "This Is Us" (6.694 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T2) and "New Amsterdam" (5.007 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6).

Next up was CBS (8.629 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with originals from "NCIS" (10.741 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4), "FBI" (8.539 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (6.606 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.956 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up the post-MLB return of "The Resident" (3.418 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6) and "Empire" (2.494 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6).

And finally, new episodes of "The Flash" (1.202 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11) and "Arrow" (0.621 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) rounded out the night on The CW (0.912 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).

ABC (5.245 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was a close second with its own coverage of "ABC News 2018 Midterm Election" (5.245 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2).

Next up was CBS (4.252 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its presentation of "CBS News: Campaign 2018" (4.252 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3).
