New York, NY - May 5, 2020 - BET's winning lineup continues to gather the masses with acclaimed original series "Boomerang" from Lena Waithe delivering 1.3 Million total viewers P2+ during last Wednesday's premiere (simulcast across BET and BET Her on 4/29/20)*. "Boomerang" episode #207 delivered its highest-rated episode in the season. The final two episodes of the series also logged double-digits-L+3 ratings lift vs. their Live + Same Day numbers, +32% (Episode #207), and +36% (Episode #208). Executive produced by Waithe and Halle Berry, "Boomerang" Season two also grew its audience by +22% from Season one in L+3 (Adults 18-49).
For the series return, two women of color took the helm as co-showrunners: Dime Davis (A Black Lady Sketch Show, The Chi, Boomerang S1) and Angeli Millan (The Cleveland Show, Us and Them, The Muppets). The entire season was directed exclusively by women of color, with Dime Davis returning to the director's chair for half of the season.
