ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' IS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54

'Nightline' Improves Week to Week in Adults 25-54, Posting Its Strongest Performance in 11 Weeks

'Nightline' Posts Year-to-Year Gains in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Is Beating CBS in Key Adult Demos for the 7th Consecutive Year

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (658,000) and Adults 25-54 (195,000) during the week of Aug. 29, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In addition, "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show is James Corden" in Adults 18-49.

"Nightline" improved week to week in Adults 25-54 (+15% - 195,000 vs. 170,000) to its strongest performance in 11 weeks - since w/o 6/13/22.

"Nightline" saw gains on the same week last year in Adults 25-54 (+17% - 195,000 vs. 167,000) and Adults 18-49 (+2% - 135,000 vs. 133,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 7th consecutive year - since the 2015-2016 season.

This week, "Nightline" covered rapper DoItAll (Dupre Kelly) on becoming a city council member; Serena Williams at the U.S. Open; social media account Depth of Wikipedia; Afghanistan under Taliban control; Kidz Bop and the label's long-awaited tour and 20-year history of musical covers; former NFL player Matt Araiza, who spoke out against rape accusations; obstruction of justice allegations amid Trump investigation; new documentary, "Katrina Babies"; Olympian Lolo Jones; and as a part of ABC News' "Uvalde: 365" commitment, the Uvalde community honoring state champions 50 years later, Uvalde 1970 walkout members who see history repeating itself, and Uvalde high school's first home football game of the season.

NOTE: From Monday-Thursday, CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC." On Friday, CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC-ENC." In addition, NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" due to being repeats. The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
