ABC News' "Nightline" Ranks No. 1 in Adults 25-54

ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN ADULTS 25-54

'Nightline' Outperforms CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 (224,000) during the week of Sept. 12, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In addition, "Nightline" outperformed CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

"Nightline" improved on the previous week in Adults 25-54 (+4% - 224,000 vs. 216,000) and Adults 18-49 (+11% - 168,000 vs. 152,000), seeing its strongest news demo performance since June - since w/o 6/13/22.

For the 2nd week in a row, "Nightline" posted across-the-board gains on the year-ago week: Total Viewers (+5% - 811,000 vs. 772,000), Adults 25-54 (+21% - 224,000 vs. 185,000) and Adults 18-49 (+32% - 168,000 vs. 127,000).

On Monday (9/12/22), "Nightline" delivered its strongest single-day telecast in Total Viewers (1.032 million), Adults 25-54 (338,000) and Adults 18-49 (275,000) in 3 months - since 6/13/22, 6/16/22 and 6/16/22, respectively.

This week, "Nightline" covered thousands paying respect to Queen Elizabeth, Britain's colonial history and Queen Consort Camilla and King Charles III's relationship; DJ Khalid reflecting on his career, family, success and new album; Angelica Ross making her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the musical "Chicago"; student loan relief; Gloria Estefan and her place in music history; nurses in Minnesota organizing the largest private-sector nurses strike in U.S. history; YouTube show "Recess Therapy"; prosecutors asking to vacate Adnan Syed's conviction, whose story was featured in the "Serial" podcast; Viola Davis and her new movie "The Woman King" and more.

NOTE: On Monday (9/12/22) and Friday (9/16/22), CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM." The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. CBS and NBC weekly averages are based on three days (Tuesday-Thursday).
