ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 FOR 15TH WEEK STRAIGHT

'Nightline' Grows Week to Week in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49

'Nightline' Posts Gains in Total Viewers Season to Date

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (708,000) and Adults 25-54 (149,000) during the week of Aug. 14, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" took the top spot, beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in overall viewers and the key Adult news demo for the 15th week in a row.

"Nightline" improved on the previous week in Adults 25-54 (+5% - 149,000 vs. 142,000) and Adults 18-49 (+18% - 97,000 vs. 82,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+2% - 881,000 vs. 862,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

This week "Nightline" covered former President Donald Trump's fourth indictment; GOP presidential candidates at the Iowa State Fair; the Maui wildfire death toll that is expected to grow amid efforts to ID the victims; displaced Maui residents seeking refuge amidst shelter crisis; the long-lasting legacy of "Kool & The Gang"; how "The Blind Side" is back in headlines amid legal dispute; "10 Million Names": Michael Strahan tracing roots to small Texas town; Idina Menzel's new album "Drama Queen" and more.

NOTE: CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "The Late Late Show-JC-ENC" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM." The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
