ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN ALL KEY DEMOS, POSTS DOUBLE-DIGIT GAINS YEAR TO YEAR IN TOTAL VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 AND ADULTS 18-49

'Nightline' Beats CBS' 'Comics Unleashed' and NBC's 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' in All Key Measures for 2nd Week in a Row

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Reports Strongest Overall Audience in 4 Years

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (904,000), Adults 25-54 (227,000) and Adults 18-49 (157,000) for the week of Oct. 23, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" took the top spot, beating CBS' "Comics Unleashed" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in all key measures for the 2nd week in a row.

"Nightline" turned in double-digit gains year to year in Total Viewers (+18% - 904,000 vs. 769,000), Adults 25-54 (+18% - 227,000 vs. 192,000) and Adults 18-49 (+15% - 157,000 vs. 136,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, versus CBS' "Comics Unleashed" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers." In addition, "Nightline" is growing versus the comparable weeks last season in Total Viewers (+10% - 975,000 vs. 887,000), Adults 25-54 (+8% - 255,000 vs. 237,000) and Adults 18-49 (+2% - 173,000 vs. 170,000), posting its largest overall audience in 4 years - since the 2019-2020 season.

This week "Nightline" covered co-anchor Byron Pitts' interview with the parents of an Israeli American hostage; the stories of Americans trapped in Gaza; the recent Maine mass shooting and the search that ensued; the off-duty pilot charged for allegedly trying to cut engines midflight; a security guard's claims of abuse of migrants who were bused from Texas; rising teen soccer star Benjamin Cremaschi's success; "Impact x Nightline"'s latest episode about fast-fashion retailer Shein and its meteoric rise amid controversy and more.

NOTE: On Friday (10/27/23), NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Late Night with Seth Meyers-SM" due to being a repeat. The retitled telecast is excluded from the weekly and season averages. NBC's weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
