Aug. 23 Primetime Coverage of Fever-Sky Averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 3.31 Million Viewers, Peaking at 3.82 Million Viewers

NBC Sports Averaging 1.75 Million Viewers for its Seven WNBA Games on NBC and Peacock This Season, Up 35% vs. Comparable Coverage Last Season

STAMFORD, Conn. - Aug. 26, 2026 - NBC Sports' primetime presentation of the Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky Sunday Night Basketball game on Aug. 23 averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 3.31 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, making it the most-watched WNBA regular-season game since the opening weekend of league's inaugural 1997 season and the third most-watched WNBA regular-season game ever, based on official Nielsen Big Data + Panel and digital data from Adobe Analytics. The game peaked at 3.82 million viewers.

Fever-Sky (7:08 - 9:26 p.m. ET) trails only two games from the WNBA's opening weekend of June 21-22, 1997 - New York Liberty-Los Angeles Sparks, 5.04 million viewers on NBC, and Charlotte Sting-Phoenix Mercury, 3.59 million viewers on NBC, respectively. Between Charlotte-Phoenix on June 22, 1997, and Indiana-Chicago this past Sunday, 6,440 WNBA regular-season games were played.

The Fever's 113-90 victory over the Sky at Wintrust Arena in Chicago was powered by their backcourt duo of Caitlin Clark (37 points) and Kelsey Mitchell (30 points). It was only the second WNBA regular-season Sunday game ever presented in primetime on a broadcast network. The first came earlier this season on July 12, when the Fever faced the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and averaged a TAD of 2.64 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, which remains the second most-watched WNBA game of the season.

NBC Sports has averaged a TAD of 1.75 million viewers for its seven games this season on NBC and Peacock, up 35% vs. comparable coverage last season. This is NBC Sports' first season with WNBA coverage since 2002.

NBC Sports' regular-season WNBA coverage concludes on Monday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN with the Atlanta Dream visiting the New York Liberty.
