DESCRIPTION:
(from Logo's press release, May 2010) It's the summer of "the underdog" as the BBC hit comedy series "Beautiful People" premieres its second season Saturday, June 12 at 10/9c on Logo. The six episode, half-hour comedy series, based on the memoirs of style guru Simon Doonan's childhood, shows that the path to fabulous never did run smooth, especially if you have one very quirky and dysfunctional family. "Beautiful People" premieres Saturday, June 12 at 10/9c. From the producer of "Absolutely Fabulous," "Beautiful People" offers a coming-of-age story through the glitzy, starry-eyed viewpoint of a young Simon Doonan as he and his best friend Kyle (or self-described as "Kylie") encounter misadventures in their suburban, working class town of Reading, England. Simon's youthful memories range from the surreal with musical numbers interjecting his youthful recounts to the glamorous with guest star appearances by Dannii Minogue and Broadway star Elaine Paige.
