At the WarnerMedia TCA presentation, TNT released an extended new trailer for the upcoming groundbreaking series, Chasing the Cure.
Chasing the Cure brings together a weekly 90-minute LIVE television broadcast with a 24/7 global digital platform in an effort to help people who are suffering from undiagnosed, misdiagnosed or uncured medical mysteries. Anchored and executive produced by Ann Curry, this initiative will feature a panel of top doctors working alongside the Chasing the Cure audience to help crack patients' cases. Debuting August 8 LIVE at 9pm ET / 6pm PT, Chasing the Cure will be simulcast on TNT and TBS.
This multi-platform experience will extend across digital, linear and social to fully harness the power of crowdsourcing through numerous calls to action. It will be comprised of social media pages, a Facebook group, a dedicated website (ChasingTheCureLive.com) that's a moderated community where users can submit their cases, and the weekly linear live telecast.
At its core, everything we do is patient-forward. We rely on our Chasing the Cure (CTC) Ethics team, which consists of our Chief Medical Ethicist, a Social Worker, our Show Psychologist, the lead Producer, and a Legal Representative of the show. In addition to the panel of doctors, we are also working with a Chief Medical Consultant. Furthermore, we are collaborating with top medical hospitals and institutions around the country. Additionally, Chasing the Cure has partnered with CrowdMed.com, giving us access to thousands of medical detectives.
Veteran journalist Kim Bondy serves as showrunner and executive producer of this 10-episode project from Lionsgate Television, production companies B-17 Entertainment, Motiv8 Media, and Eric Ortner also executive produces.
