Prime Video Reveals Special Footage of the New Series "Comedy Island Japan"; Announces the Exclusive Worldwide Premiere for November 22

A refreshing take on an unscripted comedy series, Comedy Island Japan is navigated by legendary Japanese comedian Teruyoshi Uchimura and celebrity Kazumi Takayama

TOKYO - 20 October 2023 - Today, Prime Video teased an exciting glimpse to the much-anticipated comedy series Comedy Island Japan, while officially announcing the exclusive global premiere date for November 22nd. The series features popular comedians who embark a hilarious adventure when they suddenly drift to a mysterious island. The island has been cursed for years, and if a joke goes wrong, disaster strikes. In order to break the curse of the bizarre island, they must prove their improvisation skills, facing unexpected, unreasonable challenges. This rip-roaring laughter fest is the latest addition to the Prime membership. Prime members in Japan enjoy savings, convenience, and entertainment, all in single membership.

Comedy Island Japan is navigated by Teruyoshi Uchimura, who has produced numerous comedy shows and is one of the most famous comedians in Japan. Kazumi Takayama, a former member of Nogizaka 46, also navigates the show along with him. Five well-known Japanese novelists and manga writers - Lily Franky, Akiko Higashimura, Ira Ishida, Shogo Imamura, and Shin Kibayashi - have written the series.
