Netflix Unveils Trailer For 'Kurukshetra': Mahabharata's Battlefield Knew No Friends or Enemies - Only Dharma and Destiny
Kurukshetra, Netflix's groundbreaking new animated series, brings the timeless saga of the Mahabharata to life from the perspective of 18 warriors, each wrestling with moral dilemmas, decisions and destinies that forever changed the course of history. At the heart of this epic lies the profound truth expressed by Lord Krishna: "Iss yuddh mein na koi mitra hai, na koi shatru" (This war has no friends or enemies).
With Season 1 set to premiere on October 10, Kurukshetra explores the inner conflicts, personal rivalries, and the heavy toll of India's greatest dharmayuddh (war of righteousness) that turned family against family. From Arjuna's agonizing dilemma to Draupadi's fierce vow for justice; from Duryodhan's insatiable thirst for power to Bhishma Pitamah's solemn wisdom, the animated series vividly captures the raw emotions and timeless dilemmas that have resonated across generations.
Conceptualized and created by Anu Sikka, the series is produced by Tipping Point under the stewardship of Alok Jain, Anu Sikka and Ajit Andhare. Written and directed by Ujaan Ganguly and brought to life by the talented team at Hitech Animation, Kurukshetra is further elevated by the lyrical genius of legendary poet Gulzar, whose evocative words add depth and emotion to the story.
With striking visuals and an evocative musical score, Kurukshetra presents the eternal story of the Mahabharata in a fresh, compelling narrative form, inviting viewers to experience the epic like never before.
Kurukshetra premieres October 10, only on Netflix.
