'My Dearest Señorita', by Fernando González Molina, arrives on Netflix on May 1st after its cinema premiere on April 17th

Netflix today revealed the release date, teaser trailer, and official poster for My Dearest Señorita, the film by Fernando González Molina, written by Alana S. Portero and produced by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi (Suma Content), which will arrive on Netflix on May 1 following its theatrical release on April 17.

The film stars Elisabeth Martínez, making her screen debut as the main character in this story. The cast is rounded out by Anna Castillo, Paco León, Nagore Aranburu, Manu Ríos, Eneko Sagardoy, Lola Rodríguez, María Galiana, and Delphina Bianco. My Dearest Señorita, features an original song by Zahara composed for the film, as well as original music by Álex de Lucas and Zahara

My Dearest Señorita will have its world premiere in the Official Competition section of the 29th Málaga Film Festival on March 8.

Adela, a solitary only child from a conservative family, spends her days between the family antique shop and the catechism classes she teaches, marked by her mother's protectiveness and the silence surrounding her intersex condition, which she is unaware of but which shapes her life. An unexpected and beautiful friendship with a newly arrived priest, the return of a close childhood friend, and the arrival of a woman, Isabel, trigger a chain reaction that takes Adela on a journey of self-discovery, from Pamplona to Madrid, where her identity will need the love and support of others in order to be revealed.

This film is a loose adaptation of the 1972 film of the same name, starring José Luis López Vázquez and directed by Jaime de Armiñán, who co-wrote the screenplay with José Luis Borau. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1972.
