Prime Video Reveals the Trailer for The Biggest Prank in Colombian Television, Where Nothing Is What It Seems

Here's the first look at The Master Joke of: Betty, La Fea , a genre-defying comedy series where the protagonist doesn't know he's the protagonist, premiering September 18th.

Bogotá, September 3, 2026 - Prime Video today revealed the trailer and key art for The Master Joke of: Betty, La Fea , a Colombian comedy series with a mockumentary style that reinvents the comedy format on Latin American television: a show where the protagonist doesn't know they're the protagonist. The series premieres on September 18 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

In the series, the cast of Betty La Fea: La Historia Continúa and 14 expert improvisational actors stage an ambitious and unprecedented comedy stunt on Colombian television. Diego Caicedo, an up-and-coming actor with experience in supporting roles and independent theater, agrees to participate in the " Betty La Fea Actors Workshop " after being rejected at an audition for the series, unaware that it's all a setup and everyone around him is playing a role. What Diego believes is his second chance to land a part in the acting world is, in reality, an elaborate production that will not only test him as an actor but also turn him into the unwitting hero of his own show.

During production, a team of over 80 people behind the scenes, more than 30 hidden cameras, and some of the original cast of Betty La Fea joined forces with a single goal: to make Diego believe that the fake acting workshop he enrolled in was real. The situations he faces range from awkward to ridiculous, from absurd to genuinely stressful, all designed to reveal who Diego really is when he thinks no one is watching.
