Prime Video Releases the Launch Date and Official Trailer for "The Assassin" S2, Starring Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore
LONDON - 8 October 2026 - Prime Video has released the trailer for the second series of The Assassin, written by award-winning duo Harry and Jack Williams and produced by Two Brothers Pictures (The Tourist, Fleabag, Boat Story).
Fans have less than a month to wait until the estranged mother and son duo return to take on the criminal underworld, this time with some new enemies in tow, as all 6 episodes launch on 6th November on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.
The new trailer sees hitwoman Julie (Keeley Hawes) and Edward (Freddie Highmore) reluctantly team up once again, when Edward's dream honeymoon with Kayla (Shalom Brune-Franklin) is hijacked by the arrival of a mysterious new threat. Plunged back into a world of international crime, kidnapping and high-speed car chases, to survive the job and mend an already fragile relationship, they'll have to take down Spain's corrupt underworld... and hopefully not each other first.
Returning cast members, Keeley Hawes, Freddie Highmore, Shalom Brune-Franklin and Devon Terrell will be joined by the recently announced Arnaud Binard (Emily in Paris, Modern Family), Natalia Tena (Riot Women, Harry Potter), Boris Van Severen (Baptiste, Moresnet), Jacqueline Boatswain (After The Flood, Bridgerton) and Monic Hendrickx (Penoza, Arcadia).
They are joined by Karl-El Santos (Stags, Yo Adicto), Mehdi Regragui (La Unidad Kabul, Los constructores de la Alhambra), Casimiro Aguza (Sin Lìmites, In From The Cold), Tony Corvillo (Nowhere, Mano de Hierro), Amin Hamada (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Mallorca Confidencial) and Lolo Herrero (El 47, Return to Las Sabinas).
The Assassin series two is a Two Brothers Pictures (a Banijay Entertainment company) production for Prime Video UK and Ireland, ZDF (Germany) and Stan (Australia) in association with Banijay Rights. The 6 x 60-minute drama has been written and created by Harry and Jack Williams, who both also serve as Executive Producers, with Sarah Hammond, Alex Mercer and Daisy Mount serving as Executive Producers for Two Brothers Pictures, and Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore also serving as Executive Producers.
