DESCRIPTION: (from NBC's press release) It's hard to get fired from the NYPD, but that doesn't mean you can't be banished. For years, Brooklyn precinct Fort Pit has been the dumping ground for the black sheep of the NYPD – good cops who screwed up and fell under the heading of New York's Less Than Finest. But now Captain Gloria Lefkawitz wants to breathe new life into the place, hiring talented rookies to break this band of slackers from within. But these recruits are wet behind the ears, and their chances of making a difference are as likely as someone storming the beaches of Normandy with a big smile and a box of Band-Aids. Rescue Me producers Peter Tolan, Denis Leary and Jim Serpico executive produce this dark comedy that's so satirical, it has to be called a drama.
