STATUS: previously in development (2009-2010 season)
DEVELOPMENT STAGE: ordered to pilot
DESCRIPTION: (from TNT's press release) Screen Actors Guild Award winner William Fichtner (Prison Break, The Dark Knight, Crash) is set to play the lead role as an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in TNT's drama series pilot NIGHT AND DAY. Screen Actors Guild Award winner Sherry Stringfield (ER, The Shark) will also star as his wife. The project was created by Emmy winners Joel Surnow (24) and Todd Robinson (Lonely Hearts), who wrote the script and are executive producing. "William and Sherry have made audiences sit up and take notice time and time again with outstanding performances in a number of series and films," said Michael Wright, senior vice president in charge of the Content Creation Group for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. "We are proud to have them on board for this gritty and exciting series pilot." In NIGHT AND DAY, Fichtner will play Dan Hollister, a tough, veteran ATF agent in the Special Threat Intervention Unit, a federal law enforcement task force. In the other half of his life, Dan faces challenges as a protective and caring father and husband. Caught in both worlds with different sets of serious responsibilities, Dan must be a pillar of strength for his teammates and his family and somehow keep two sides of his life from bleeding into each other. Stringfield will play Elizabeth Hollister, Dan's wife. Beautiful, warm and soulful, Elizabeth is both smart and talented enough to be a career woman. Instead, she has chosen to be a stay-at-home mother and is proud of that equally challenging path. Being the spouse of a law enforcement agent is not easy, yet Elizabeth seems to be very well adjusted and is, in many ways, her family's most solid emotional anchor.
