DESCRIPTION:
(from Spike TV's press release, June 2015) World-renowned film screenwriter Kurt Wimmer is developing his first ever television project with Spike. The scripted series, "When The Levee Breaks," reflects a number of hot-button issues that are culturally relevant today including race and law enforcement. Wimmer's impressive resume includes "Law Abiding Citizen," "Salt," and the upcoming "Point Break." "When The Levee Breaks" concerns events that take place when an illegal strike by the LAPD threatens chaos in America's second largest city. An African-American cop, the series' central character, is the only officer with the courage to cross the strike-line to investigate the true motivations behind the murders of the two racist cops whose deaths provoked the strike - and whose murders he himself may be linked to. |
