· [original telefilm] · 7/31/15 at 8:00 PM
(from Disney Channel's press release, December 2013) Casting is underway for Disney's "Descendants," a contemporary live-action adventure-comedy that taps into Disney's heritage characters - notably its most evil villains - to introduce their progeny, a modern day generation of teenagers who ultimately question the evil that's always been in their hearts. Disney's "Descendants" is scheduled to begin production next spring for a 2015 premiere on Disney Channel. Kenny Ortega, the Emmy Award-winning director and choreographer of Disney's record-setting "High School Musical" TV movies and feature film, returns to Disney Channel to direct "Descendants." In a present day idyllic kingdom, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from Disney's iconic "Beauty and the Beast") is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to the trouble-making offspring of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar who have been imprisoned on a forbidden island with all the other villains, sidekicks, evil step-mothers and step-sisters. These villainous descendants (Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay, respectively) are allowed into the kingdom to attend prep school alongside the offspring of iconic Disney heroes, including Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan. However, the evil teens face a dilemma. Should they follow in their nefarious parents' footsteps and help all the villains regain power or embrace their innate goodness and save the kingdom?

Set in Washington, D.C., it is 10 years after the demise of Precrime, a law enforcement agency tasked with identifying and eliminating criminals... before their crimes were committed. To carry out this brand of justice, the agency used three precogs - "precognitives" Dash, Arthur and Agatha - who were able to see the future. Now, in 2065, crime-solving is different, and justice leans more on sophisticated and trusted technology than on the instincts of the precogs. Precog DASH (Stark Sands, "Inside Llewyn Davis") - driven by his terrifying, but fragmented visions - now has returned in secret to help a brash, but shrewd police detective, LARA VEGA (Meagan Good, "Think Like A Man" franchise, "Californication"), attempt to stop the murders that he predicts. As they navigate this future America, they will search for Dash's missing twin brother, ARTHUR, and elude others who will stop at nothing to exploit their precog abilities. Also complicating matters is Dash and Arthur's ingenious, but reclusive, foster sister, AGATHA (Laura Regan, "Mad Men," "Unbreakable"), who just wants Dash to return home. A drama of crime and conspiracy, this is a timeless story of connection: two lost souls, Dash and Vega, who find friendship, purpose and redemption in each other.

When his legal series ends, he decides to move back home and join his family's real law firm - despite having no formal education, no bar certification, no license to practice and no experience in an actual courtroom. DEAN SANDERSON (Lowe) spent eight seasons playing the title role on the hit legal drama "The Grinder." Now he's moving back to his hometown of Boise, Idaho, where his brother, STEWART (Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Fred Savage, "The Wonder Years"), is a real-life attorney who is poised to take over the family law firm. It doesn't take long for Dean to start injecting his TV drama into every aspect of Stewart's life, both in the courtroom and at home, impacting Stewart's wife - and Dean's high school sweetheart - DEBBIE (Mary Elizabeth Ellis, NEW GIRL, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"); their two kids, 15-year-old LIZZIE (Hana Hayes, "Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures") and 13-year-old ETHAN (Connor Kalopsis, "Days Of Our Lives"); and Dean and Stewart's father, the law firm's head, DEAN SR. (William Devane, "24: Live Another Day"). Dean and Stewart don't see to eye to eye, but when they stop arguing with each other and start arguing together in court... they make a formidable team. THE GRINDER is the story of two brothers, who took different paths, but meet again in the middle - for justice... sort of.
CODE BLACK (CBS)
· [series premiere] · 9/30/15 at 10:00 PM
· [regularly airs] · wednesdays from 10:00 PM-11:00 PM EST
(from CBS's press release, May 2015) CODE BLACK, based on the award-winning documentary by Ryan McGarry, is a heart-pounding medical drama that takes place in the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation, where the staggering influx of patients can outweigh the limited resources available to the extraordinary doctors and nurses whose job is to treat them all - creating a condition known as Code Black. At the heart of the ER's controlled chaos is Residency Director Dr. Leanne Rorish (Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden), renowned for successfully performing high-risk procedures in Center Stage, the trauma area reserved for the most critical cases. Her four new first-year residents are Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Malaya Pineda (Melanie Kannokada), Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Angus Leighton (Harry M. Ford). Leanne's confidante, Jesse Sallander (Luis Guzman), is an amiable seen-it-all senior nurse who manages the residents. Also working in the ER is Dr. Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey), an excellent physician who sometimes disagrees with Leanne's "cowboy" approach, and Dr. Rollie Guthrie (William Allen Young), the energetic, longest-serving attending. In Center Stage, life is measured in seconds, and these heroic doctors and nurses operate with speed and skill within an overwhelmed system to treat the crowds of people who are often there for one of two reasons: to die or to receive a life-saving miracle. Michael Seitzman, Marti Noxon, Linda Goldstein-Knowlton, Ryan McGarry and David Semel are executive producers for ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios. The pilot was directed by David Semel ("Madam Secretary").
