· [regularly airs] · tuesdays from 10:00 PM-11:00 PM EST
(from Investigation Discovery's press release, November 2017) Legend has it that the quiet, picturesque village of Dryden, N.Y., inspired Frank Capra's vision of Bedford Falls in It's a Wonderful Life. But contrary to that image, Dryden became the setting for a strange string of tragedies and murders between 1989 and 1999 that left residents wondering why death stalked their beloved town. To them it was a tragic coincidence, but outsiders gossiped about a curse, labeling Dryden as a real-life "Village of the Damned." Residents have maintained a code of silence... until now. Nearly two decades after Dryden's dark years ended, America's leading true-crime network, Investigation Discovery (ID), brings the mystery to life in a serialized format that features the town itself as the central character, as well as a Greek chorus of residents that lived through this tragic time. Each episode pries open one chapter from that era, starting with the cold-blooded execution of an entire family, followed by the murder of a beloved football coach, the untimely deaths of two beloved cheerleaders, and the tragic ripple effects that touched all corners of the community. Interviews with law enforcement and other key players transport viewers back to the moments, days, months, and years that followed each crime. Produced by Red Marble Media in association with Spring Theory, the five-part serialized event VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED airs Tuesdays at 10/9c starting November 28 only on Investigation Discovery.

All I can hope for is that people will come to realize that the truth is not a simple, one-line explanation that many people have tried to make it out to be. That really, that my life was this unfolding of a complicated life that I lived had all of these things that came into being and that led up to my involvement and responsibility for what is an ongoing and enduring family tragedy. The tragedy didn't end on that night, as devastating as that night was. It didn't end there for my family, and it continues on to this day, and that sadness is something that I am trying to make up for with them and with my parents for the rest of my life. Guillermo Diaz ("Scandal," "Weeds") stars in the role of, perhaps, America's most prolific serial killer, Rodney Alcala, alongside Emmy(R) winner Carrie Preston ("The Good Wife," "True Blood") as Carol Jensen, a mother who tirelessly seeks justice for her murdered daughter. The following week brings audiences FINAL VISION on Sunday, December 10 from 8-10pm ET, a twisted psychological thriller starring Scott Foley ("Scandal") as Jeffrey MacDonald, respected U.S. Army Green Beret doctor - and suspect in killing his wife and young children - and Dave Annable ("Heartbeat," "Brothers & Sisters") as best-selling author Joe McGinniss. Alcala preyed on young attractive women, luring them by claiming he was a professional photographer who wanted to enter their photos in a contest. While the precise victim count remains unknown, Alcala is thought to have killed as many as 130 women and children before he was finally captured in 1980. · [regularly airs] · wednesdays from 9:00 PM-10:00 PM EST
(from National Geographic Channel's press release, November 2017) National Geographic's three-part global miniseries, Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist, offers an intimate account of the life and legacy of the iconic primatologist, 32 years after her violent murder. The series premieres on National Geographic Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 9/8c, and will air globally in 171 countries and in 45 languages. Dian Fossey left the United States for Africa in December 1966 and began her gorilla studies soon after. While in the central African nation of Rwanda, Fossey fell in love with the species and dedicated her life to ensuring their survival. She became an international icon and renowned primatologist, all while fighting an endless battle against encroaching gorilla poachers. The fight likely cost Fossey her life, though her murder was never definitively solved. The series is filled with Fossey's own observations, recorded in her writings and brought to life by Sigourney Weaver, who has a special connection to Fossey. Weaver won a Golden Globe, and was nominated for an Oscar, for her portrayal of Fossey in the 1988 film "Gorillas in the Mist." Weaver is uniquely placed to recount Fossey's firsthand thoughts and feelings. Acclaimed film director, producer and writer James Marsh serves as executive producer on the miniseries. Marsh directed 2008's "Man on Wire," the Academy Award-winning documentary about Philippe Petit's high wire walk between New York's Twin Towers. Marsh also helmed 2015's "The Theory of Everything," the Academy Award- and Golden Globe-nominated film about physicist Stephen Hawking and his relationship with his wife.

From A+E Studios in association with Jeremy Renner's The Combine and Midnight Radio, the ten episode season takes viewers inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages who were entrusted with protecting Christianity's most precious relics. "Knightfall" begins after the fall of the city of Acre, the Templar's last stronghold in the Holy Land, where the Holy Grail is lost. Years later, a clue emerges suggesting the whereabouts of the Grail and sends the Templars, led by the noble, courageous and headstrong Templar Knight Landry (Tom Cullen, "Downton Abbey," "Gunpowder"), on a life or death mission to find the lost Cup of Christ. From their battles in the Holy Land, to their clash with the King of France, to the dark events leading to the demise of the Templar Order on Friday the 13th, 1307 - a date which became synonymous with bad luck - the story of the Knights Templar has never been fully told until now. Focusing on themes such as belief, sacrifice, politics, love, power and revenge - "Knightfall" goes deep into the clandestine world of this legendary brotherhood of warrior monks to find out who these knights were, how they lived, and what they died believing. In addition to Cullen, the drama series also stars Pádraic Delaney (The Wind That Shakes the Barley, "The Tudors") as Gawain, once the greatest swordsman of the Templar Order who was crippled at Acre, and Simon Merrells ("Spartacus", "Dominion") as Tancrede, a steadfast, brave, and resolute knight who venerates his Templar vows above all else.

LA TO VEGAS (FOX)
· [series premiere] · 1/2/18 at 9:00 PM
· [regularly airs] · not on the schedule
(from FOX's press release, May 2017) From executive producers Will Ferrell ("Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," "Elf"), Adam McKay ("The Big Short"), Lon Zimmet ("Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt") and Steve Levitan ("Modern Family"), LA TO VEGAS is a single-camera ensemble comedy about an airline crew and the eccentric passengers who, every weekend, take the roundtrip flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas with one goal in mind - to come back a winner. Welcome to Jackpot Airlines, a budget carrier whose junket flight from LA to Vegas and back again, is filled with dreamers looking for that big score. Holding (or, more to the point, barely holding) these voyages together is RONNIE (Kim Matula, "UnREAL"), a long-suffering flight attendant who tries to keep her cool (oftentimes, with little success) whether she's dealing with a bi-polar bride-to-be or the dead body in Row 13. Managing the revolving door of bachelor parties and 21st birthdays gets even trickier when Ronnie develops a "location-ship" with COLIN (Ed Weeks, "The Mindy Project"), a regular passenger and an economics professor, whose son and soon-to-be ex-wife live in Vegas. Further complicating her job every weekend is CAPTAIN DAVE (Emmy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Dylan McDermott, "The Practice," "American Horror Story"), the narcissistic pilot whose fighter-pilot dreams never quite worked out; BERNARD (Nathan Lee Graham, "The Comeback," "Hitch"), the always-positive career flight attendant who thinks there's no flight more magical than the LA-to-Vegas; ARTEM (Peter Stormare, "The Big Lebowski"), the genial professional gambler who serves as the plane's resident (but unofficial) bookie; and NICHOLE (Olivia Macklin, "The Young Pope"), the sweet-natured, part-time stripper who's a lot savvier than people realize. It won't be easy, but this unlikely group of miscreants and dreamers will eventually go from being strangers on a plane to a supportive, if unconventional, family... from Friday to Sunday...whether they like it or not.

Griselda masterminded the use of beautiful women, the elderly and children as the mules and created false-bottom suitcases to smuggle cocaine from Colombia. With money rolling in, her sons abandoned school and entered the family business instead. A move to Miami would further expand Griselda's empire, and lead to the death of her second husband Alberto (Juan Pablo Espinosa), giving the rise to her nickname, The Black Widow. Her willingness to use violence against her Miami competitors, led her rivals to make repeated unsuccessful attempts to kill her. In order to protect her youngest son with third husband Dario (Raul Mendez), Griselda moved to California where she was later arrested by the DEA and sentenced to a decade in jail. The case against her collapsed and upon her release, she was deported to Colombia, where she was ultimately gunned down in 2012. In her lifetime, Griselda's drug distribution network spanned across the United States and she was suspected of ordering over 200 murders. Also stars Jenny Pellicer as Carolina, Alejandro Edda as Rudy, Jonah Stark as young Dixon, Jaden Rain as young Osvaldo, Dagan Nish as Michael, Lauren Guci as young Michael, Warren Christie as Jimmy and Darcy Laurie as Pablo Escobar.

RESIDENT, THE (FOX)
· [series premiere - special night & time] · 1/21/18 at 10:00 PM
· [regularly airs] · not on the schedule
(from FOX's press release, May 2017) Focusing on three doctors at different stages of their careers and a dedicated young nurse, THE RESIDENT is a provocative new medical drama that rips back the curtain to reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country. Meet DR. CONRAD HAWKINS (Matt Czuchry, "The Good Wife"), one of the best doctors at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Charming, arrogant and only a third-year resident, Conrad does everything in the most unconventional way possible. Along with treating patients, Conrad believes it is his job to burst the illusions of first-year residents, like DR. DEVON PRAVESH (Manish Dayal, "Halt and Catch Fire"), and turn them into real-life doctors. Devon is an innocent idealist, who wears his finely tuned moral compass and passion for science like armor. With Conrad's help, however, Devon quickly discovers the reality of his chosen profession is not what he imagined, and that ethical lines are often blurred. Nothing, not even the best medical school in the country, could have prepared him for what he's about to learn. As Devon accompanies Conrad through the hospital's halls, he meets distinguished chief of surgery DR. RANDOLPH BELL (Bruce Greenwood, "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story," "Mad Men"), the face of the hospital and its most sought-after doctor, whose diminishing skills, and the errors they cause, are covered with the help of allies under his command; DR. MINA OKAFOR (Shaunette Renée Wilson, "Billions"), a rising star surgeon from Nigeria who is threatening Bell's dominance, but who also is in the U.S. on a visa; and NICOLETTE NEVIN (Emily VanCamp, "Revenge"), one of Chastain Memorial's most respected nurses and Conrad's on-again-off-again romantic partner. While Conrad opens Devon's eyes to the stark realities of hospital life, the once-optimistic young doctor soon realizes that the practice of medicine is a business, like any other. Not all patients are angels and not all doctors are gods, but one thing's for sure: expectations are meant to be shattered.

MOSAIC (HBO)
· [series premiere] · 1/22/18 at 9:00 PM
· [regularly airs] · mondays from 9:00 PM-10:00 PM EST
(from HBO's press release, November 2017) What is the future of storytelling Oscar(R)- and Emmy(R)-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh's answer is unveiled today when the MOSAIC mobile app launches as a free download for iPhone(R), iPad(R) and Apple TV(R), with the free Android app coming soon. Presented by PodOp, a media technology company changing the way stories are crafted and experienced, and developed for HBO by Soderbergh and Casey Silver, in conjunction with writer Ed Solomon, the MOSAIC app is an interactive experience that could be the next step in storytelling. The launch of the MOSAIC app comes at a time when consumers are looking for new forms of mobile-first entertainment, with eMarketer reporting this year that consumers now spend up to 20% of their media time on mobile apps, and that almost 85% of their smartphone time is spent in-app instead of on a traditional mobile web browser. MOSAIC aims to give this growing audience a mobile experience unlike any they've had before. To accomplish this, Soderbergh and his partners at PodOp, a media technology company that, unlike other ventures of this type, is driven by narrative rather than technology, explored what happens when filmmakers ask engineers to serve the story, rather than the other way around. Three years in the making, this first full-length production, developed in association with HBO, leverages new technology that enables viewers to choose from which point of view to follow the story and, in effect, to build their own experience from the material created and curated by Soderbergh and Solomon. Challenged to come up with compelling storylines and character connections without being able to anticipate what paths a viewer might choose to take, Solomon's resulting script read like none other before it, and required Soderbergh to shoot scenes from multiple perspectives throughout filming. The technology developed to support this product resulted in PodOp filing 14 new patents, including script management tools for user selection-driven narratives and new forms of data mining to inform content experiences.
