"Pilot" -- Dean Cain, Jeremy Sumpter, Mare Winningham, Christopher Lloyd, Kirsten Storms, John Ortiz, JD Pardo and Dan Byrd star in CLUBHOUSE, a new drama series about a 16-year-old boy who becomes a man in a world of overgrown boys when he takes a job as a batboy for a professional baseball team. The series will have a special premiere on Sunday, Sept. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) before moving to its regular time period on Tuesday, Sept. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Gavin O�Connor directed the premiere episode from a script written by one of the show�s executive producers, Daniel Cerone. The show is inspired by Matt McGough�s experiences as a batboy for a professional baseball team.

For the first time, Pete Young (Sumpter) takes a risk -- perhaps the only risk of his young life -- when he applies for and lands his dream job as a batboy for the New York Empires. The problem is his single mom, Lynne (Winningham), has no idea what he�s up to. Until now, he�s been the golden boy while his rebellious older sister, Betsy (Storms), has always been in the doghouse. Pete attends a strict Catholic high school where he hangs out with his best friend Mike (Dan Byrd), who hopes to cash in on his friend�s new position in life.

On the job, Pete becomes a part of a new family that includes Conrad Dean (Cain), the team�s captain and star third baseman and one of the boy�s all-time idols who takes on the role of an older brother. Also, in the clubhouse is his boss, Lou Russo (Lloyd), a gruff but fair equipment manager who becomes a much-needed father figure; Carlos Tavares (Ortiz), a rookie who believes that Pete is his good luck charm, and Jose Marquez (JD Pardo), the Empire�s territorial head batboy. Pete is over the moon at being a member of his favorite team, but he must still balance life at home and life in the big leagues as he faces the moral dilemmas and curve balls that life throws his way.

In the premiere episode, Pete Young is elated to be a part of the Empires, but he soon finds out that life in the big leagues is not quite the joyride he expected. Pete gets caught in the middle of a ball player�s steroid scandal and faces the toughest decision of his life.

Dean Cain is best known to television audiences for his starring role as Clark Kent/Superman in �Lois & Clark: The Adventures of Superman.� His other television credits include �Beverly Hills, 90210� and television movies �The Perfect Husband� and �The Runaway.� Cain�s feature film credits include �Out of Time,� �Rat Race,� �Broken Hearts Club,� �Futuresport,� �Best Men,� �Flight of Fancy,� �Dog Boys,� �Rag and Bone,� �Christmas Rush� and �Stone Boy.� His production credits include several small films and the syndicated series "Ripley's Believe It or Not," which he also hosted. In addition, Cain has developed a number of series with Sony Pictures, including the reality-based "On Parole." Cain will soon be seen in the feature film "Bailey's Millions," in the independent film "Lost" and in the television movie "I Do (But I Don't)," which are all due out this fall. Also an avid athlete, Cain currently plays in the NBA Entertainment league. He played football at Princeton and signed with the Buffalo Bills before an injury ended his football career.

Jeremy Sumpter�s television credits include appearances on �ER,� �Raising Dad� and the lead role in the Showtime family drama �Just A Dream,� for which he won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Mini-series or Special. His feature film credits include �Frailty,� �Local Boys� and, most recently, �Peter Pan,� for which he won the Saturn award for Best Young Performer.

Mare Winningham has appeared in more than 50 television movies and mini-series, including the �Hallmark Hall of Fame� presentations "Love Is Never Silent" and "The Boys Next Door," for which she received Emmy Award nominations, as well as "Little Girl Fly Away" and the Peabody Award-winning "Sharing the Secret," on CBS. She won Emmy Awards for her performances in "George Wallace" and "Amber Waves." Winningham also starred in �The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire,� on CBS, "Off the Minnesota Strip," "Love and Lies," "Helen Keller: The Miracle Continues," the mini-series "The Thorn Birds" and the Showtime movie "The Maldonado Miracle," for which she received a Daytime Emmy nomination. Winningham's feature film credits include "Georgia," for which she earned Academy Award and SAG Award nominations and an Independent Spirit Award as Best Supporting Actress, as well as "Wyatt Earp," "Turner and Hooch" and "St. Elmo's Fire" and, most recently, the independent features �Dandelion� and �The Adventures of Ociee Nash.� Also a singer-songwriter, she has recorded an album, Lonesomers, and occasionally performs in Los Angeles clubs.

Christopher Lloyd, a three-time Emmy Award-winner and a veteran of film, television and theater, has appeared in more than 90 film and television productions. He is best known to television audiences from his two-time Emmy Award-winning role in �Taxi.� His other television credits include �Road to Avalonea,� for which he won an Emmy, �Fallen Angels,� �Dead Ahead: Exxon Valdez Disaster,� �Wit,� �Alice In Wonderland� and �Angels in The End Zone.� Lloyd�s feature film credits include �One Flew Over the Cukoo�s Nest,� the �Back To The Future� trilogy, �Things To Do in Denver When You�re Dead,� �Eight Men Out,� �Addams Family,� �Addams Family Values,� �The Pagemaster,� �Dennis The Menace,� �The Dream Team,� �Angels in the Outfield,� �Star Trek III,� �Who Framed Roger Rabbit,� �My Favorite Martian� and �Twenty Bucks,� for which he won an Independent Spirit Award. Lloyd has appeared in more than 200 plays including on and Off Broadway and regional productions. Most recently he performed in New York as Dalton Trumbo in �Trumbo.� For his title role in �Kaspar� he took home an Obie and a Drama Desk Award. His other theater credits include �Twelfth Night� in New York Festival�s Shakespeare In The Park, Centerstage�s �Waiting for Godot� and �Macbeth� on Broadway.

Kirsten Storms is best known to television audiences for her role as Belle Black on the daytime drama �Days of Our Lives.� Her career started with several television commercial appearances including �Galoob Baby Doll �,� �Sea World� and Mattel�s � �Talk-With-Me Barbie.� Storms� television credits include the series �Second Noah,� �7th Heaven,� �Any Day Now,� �Love Letters,� �Sing Me a Story with Bell,� �The Trojan Horse� and starring roles in the movies �Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century,� �Zenon: The Sequel� and �Zenon, Z3.� She also voices a main character for the cable animated series �Kim Possible.�

John Ortiz�s television credits include the series �The Job� and �Lush Life.� He also appeared in �Law & Order� and, on CBS, �The Handler� and �Touched By An Angel.� His feature film credits include �Narc,� �Amistad,� �Carlito�s Way,� �Ransom,� �Riot,� �Side Streets,� �Sgt. Bilko,� �Before Night Falls,� �The Opportunists� and �The Last Marshall.� On stage, Ortiz appeared in the Tony-nominated �Anna in the Tropics,� �Salvador Dali Make Me Hot,� for which he won an Obie for best actor, and �The Skin of Our Teeth.� Ortiz, co-founder of the LAByrinth Theatre Company, has produced and performed in many LAByrinth productions including, �Jesus Hopped The A Train,� �Divine Horseman,� �Roughhouse,� �Moonlight Mile� and, most recently, �Guinea Pig Solo.�

JD Pardo is currently starring in the feature film �A Cinderella Story.� His other feature film credits include �Supercross� and �Havoc.� His television credits include �American Dreams,� �For The People,� �One On One,� �So Little Time,� �Go Fish,� �My Wife and Kids� and �Titans.�

Dan Byrd most recently starred in the feature film �A Cinderella Story.� He also appeared in the feature film �28 Days.� His television credits include the mini-series �Salem�s Lot� and �Firestarter 2: Rekindled,� the movies �Just Ask My Children� and �The Price Of A Broken Heart� and the series �Any Day Now,� for which he received the Young Artists Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. He has made guest appearances on �Joan of Arcadia,� �The Guardian,� �CSI: Crime Scene Investigation� and �Judging Amy,� all on CBS, and he also appeared on �Boomtown� and �State of Grace.�
