GEORGE STRAIT, MARTINA McBRIDE AND HORIZON AWARD NOMINEES DIERKS BENTLEY, BIG & RICH, JULIE ROBERTS AND JOSH TURNER HAVE BEEN ADDED TO PERFORM ON "THE 38TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS," TUESDAY, NOV. 9 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

George Strait, Martina McBride and Horizon Award Nominees Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich, Julie Roberts and Josh Turner have been added to perform on THE 38TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS, to be broadcast live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tuesday, Nov. 9 (8:00-11:00 PM; live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. As previously announced, CMA nominees Brooks & Dunn will host the Awards special for the first time.

Strait is nominated for two CMA Awards in 2004 including Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year with Jimmy Buffet. Strait has been nominated for the Male Vocalist of the Year Award 20 times since 1984 and has won five times (1985, 1986, 1996, 1997, 1998). He has a total of 73 CMA nominations, and has earned 15 CMA Awards.

Martina McBride is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, an Award she has won three times (1999, 2002, 2003), tying her with Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette. Reba McEntire, who is also nominated in the category this year, holds the record with four wins for Female Vocalist.

Big & Rich (Big Kenny and John Rich) received two CMA nominations for Duo of the Year and the coveted Horizon Award. John Rich also earned a third nomination for Single of the Year as co-writer with Gretchen Wilson on "Redneck Woman."

Celebrating his first CMA Awards nomination with a performance this year is Horizon Award nominee Dierks Bentley. Also scheduled to perform is Julie Roberts, who will make her CMA Awards debut as a Horizon Award nominee.

Josh Turner is also nominated for two CMA Awards including the Horizon Award and Song of the Year for his number one hit "Long Black Train," which Turner wrote while he was a student at Belmont University in Nashville.

Previously announced performers include Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain with Billy Currington, Keith Urban and Gretchen Wilson. Additional names will be announced soon.
