THE TEAM SEARCHES FOR A STRUGGLING YOUNG SINGLE MOTHER
WHO VANISHES AFTER LEAVING HER 3-YEAR-OLD SON IN HIS BABYSITTER'S CARE, IN PART ONE OF A TWO-PART EPISODE,
ON "WITHOUT A TRACE," THURSDAY, NOV. 4
"Nickel and Dimed -- Part 1" -- The team investigates when a young, struggling single mother disappears after imploring her 3-year-old son's babysitter to watch him as a last-minute favor, on WITHOUT A TRACE, Thursday, Nov. 4 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Martha Mitchell directed the episode written by David Amann.
Though none of the acquaintances of the missing Colleen McGrath seem to know a great deal about her life, the team soon pieces together a profile of a loving mother who, despite working two jobs as a housecleaner and a retail-outlet clerk, has been barely able to afford her motel room or the babysitter. At first, Martin wonders if Colleen has simply run away from her troubles. However, further revelations about Colleen's nervous demeanor on the day of her disappearance, her suspicious short-lived windfall the week prior, allegations of illegal activities in her motel room, and a disclosure that Colleen had suddenly felt uneasy about cleaning for her current employer, leads the team to question how clean a life she's been living -- and if she's been victimized.
