NEW YORK -� December 16, 2004 -� NBC News' Matt Lauer conducts a candid and at times intensely emotional interview with Amber Frey in a special "Dateline NBC," to be broadcast on Tuesday, Jan. 4 (10:00 PM, ET). Frey talks about her public and private life - soon to be revealed in her upcoming memoir, "WITNESS: For the Prosecution of Scott Peterson" - recounting her romantic relationship with Scott Peterson in intimate detail: the blind date when they met; the terrible night she learned that he was Laci Peterson's husband; the phone calls she recorded secretly for police; her testimony that may have helped convict Scott of Laci's murder and her reaction to his sentencing. Parts of the interview will appear on "Today," Monday, Jan. 3 and Tuesday, Jan. 4 (7:00 AM, ET).
