"WOULD YOU RUN...?" CATCH THE EDGE-OF-YOUR-SEAT SCI-FI ACTION THRILLER, "MINORITY REPORT," SATURDAY MARCH 12 ON ABC

Tom Cruise Stars in This Steven Spielberg Film, Nominated for an Oscar for Best Sound Editing

Step into the future with the "removal" of crime, when the ABC Television Network airs "Minority Report," the action packed sci-fi film starring Tom Cruise, making its network television debut as the "ABC Saturday Movie of the Week," SATURDAY, MARCH 12 (8:00-11:09 p.m., ET).

Washington, DC, the year 2054... A trial program known as "Precrime" has been created to eradicate murder altogether. By using the system's three precognitive thinkers, known as Precogs, special agents have the opportunity to arrest and imprison would-be murderers prior to their actually committing the act. Chief John Anderton (Tom Cruise), a devoted Precrime enforcer, employed the system to help cope with the abduction of his son six years earlier. And all seems well -- until the Precogs predict that John Anderton himself will murder a man he's never met sometime within the next 36 hours. To prove his innocence, Anderton has to become a fugitive from the very system and people he formerly relied on and to retrieve a so-called "minority report," a dissenting opinion from one of the Precogs.

Starring in "Minority Report" are Tom Cruise ("Collateral," "Mission Impossible I & II") as Chief John Anderton, Max von Sydow ("Snow Falling on Cedars," "What Dreams May Come") as Precrime director Lamar Burgess, Steve Harris ("Bringing Down the House") as Jad, Neal McDonough (TV's "Medical Investigation") as Officer Gordon 'Fletch' Fletcher, Patrick Kilpatrick ("The Replacement Killers") as Officer Jeff Knott and Jessica Capshaw (ABC TV's "The Practice") as Evanna.

"Minority Report" was directed by Steven Spielberg ("The Terminal," "Catch Me If You Can," "Saving Private Ryan," "Jurassic Park"). The screenplay was written by Scott Frank ("Out of Sight," "Get Shorty") and John Cohen. Writing credits are given to Philip K. Dick (short story). From Cruise/Wagner Productions (U.S.), Blue Tulip (U.S.), Dream Works SKG (U.S.), Ronald Shusett/Gary Goldman (U.S.), and Amblin (U.S.). Distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. (U.S.), Universal Studios Home Video (U.S.), Dream Works Distribution LLC (U.S.), Fox Home Entertainment (BR), Gemini Film (RU).
