He Also Confronts Her Husband Who Denies That There Is A Problem

Dr. Phil McGraw confronts a drug and alcohol rehabilitation nurse who is able to sustain her out-of-control drug habit by manipulating the medical system to maintain her supply, as McGraw continues his exploration of addiction, on A DR. PHIL PRIMETIME SPECIAL: ESCAPING ADDICTION, Friday, May 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. He also confronts her husband who is in denial that a problem exists.

Dr. Phil councils Joani, a working wife and mother, whose drug habit will literally kill her if she doesn't get help. She takes pills and administers self-injections constantly throughout the day and evening to maintain her delicate equilibrium, and has doctors, dentists and pharmacists prescribing and supplying her with multiple prescriptions of a variety of drugs.

Dr. Phil and Joani discuss her problem and, though she agrees that she has one, she tries to control Dr. Phil's approach to her problem. Dr. Phil also confronts Brian, Joani's husband and enabler, who doesn't think that his wife has a problem.
