ARETHA FRANKLIN, JESSE MARTIN AND BERNADETTE PETERS WILL PERFORM ON "THE 59TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS�," TO BE BROADCAST LIVE FROM RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL IN NEW YORK, JUNE 5 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

Musical Performances Will Include "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, " "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, " "Monty Python�s Spamalot, " "The Light in the Piazza, " "Sweet Charity" And "La Cage Aux Folles "

Aretha Franklin, Jesse Martin and Bernadette Peters have been set to perform on THE 59TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS�, live from Radio City Music Hall, Sunday, June 5 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET, delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Hugh Jackman, a 2004 Tony Award winner for "The Boy from Oz," will serve as host of the show for the third year.

Musical performances from nominated shows will include: "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," "Monty Python�s Spamalot," "The Light in the Piazza," "Sweet Charity" and "La Cage Aux Folles."

As previously announced, Alan Alda, Joan Allen, Christina Applegate, Angela Bassett, Matthew Broderick, Mario Cantone, Don Cheadle, Marcia Cross, Jon Cryer, Laurence Fishburne, Jeff Goldblum, Anne Hathaway, Ethan Hawke, Dennis Haysbert, Allison Janney, James Earl Jones, Nathan Lane, Laura Linney, Idina Menzel, Esai Morales, Megan Mullally, Sandra Oh, Bernadette Peters, David Hyde Pierce, Doris Roberts, Emmy Rossum, Keri Russell, Tony Shalhoub, Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles, Kathleen Turner and Leslie Uggams have been set to present.

The Tonys were founded in memorial to Antoinette ("Tony") Perry, the American Theatre Wing's World War II chairperson. The winners are selected by the governing board of Actors Equity, The Dramatists Guild, the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, the United Scenic Artists, the Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers, the Casting Society of America, the American Theatre Wing and members of the League of American Theatres and Producers, as well as journalists.

THE 59TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS� are a presentation of Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment return as executive producers. Weiss, who won an Emmy Award for the 2002 broadcast, will also serve as director for the fifth consecutive year. Elizabeth Ireland McCann returns as managing producer and Joey Parnes will serve as coordinating producer for Tony Award Productions.
