Coach D'Amato had a handshake deal with the team owner, but the owner's death leaves control to his daughter, Cameron Diaz ("The Sweetest Thing," "Charlie's Angeles"), who believes she can get rich by moving the franchise. Meanwhile, injuries to the first and second string quarterbacks bring 'Streamin' Willie Beaman (Jamie Foxx, "Ray," "Ali") into the limelight and subject him to the pressures that befall a quarterback leading a turnaround team.

Former NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor (NY Giants, 1981-93) stars as a player trying to stay in the game long enough to earn his bonus -- although putting his life at risk. And James Woods ("Riding in Cars with Boys") and Matthew Modine ("Le Divorce," "Very Mean Men") portray team doctors with opposing views of life-threatening conditions.

Additional sports stars include Johnny Unitas, Y.A. Tittle, Warren Moon, Dick Butkus and Pat Toomay.
