"The Tuxedo," the karate chopping, crime-clobbering comedy with an espionage twist will kick into action with its network television debut as the "ABC Thursday Movie of the Week," AUGUST 18 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The film will air in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio.

"The Tuxedo" opens with obedient and loyal chauffeur Jimmy Tong (Jackie Chan) summoned to retrieve certain personal belongings from the home of millionaire Clark Devlin (Jason Isaacs), after the latter has been hospitalized from an accident. While Tong is in search of the requested items, he comes across a stunning suit that's been set apart from everything else. Temptation overcoming him, Tong tries on the suit and discovers that it contains powers he never dreamed of. In donning the magical vestment, Tong also dons Devlin's life of espionage, and soon finds himself teamed with newbie agent Del Blaine (Jennifer Love Hewitt) in a high-risk, high-laughs adventure of intrigue and action.

Starring in the film are Jackie Chan ("Rush Hour" 1 and 2, "Shanghai Knights") as Jimmy Tong, Jennifer Love Hewitt ("Heartbreakers," "I Know What You Did Last Summer") as Del Blaine, Debi Mazar ("Be Cool," "Collateral") as Steena and Jason Isaacs ("Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets," "Peter Pan") as Clark Devlin.

"The Tuxedo" is directed by Kevin Donovan. Writing credits are given to both Phil Hay ("Crazy Beautiful," "Aeon Flux") and Matt Manfredi ("Bug," "Crazy Beautiful") for the story. The film was produced by Blue Train Productions, Dream Works SKG, Parkes/MacDonald Productions, Vanguard Films Productions and is distributed by Dream Works Distribution LLC, and United Int'l Pictures.

"THE TUXEDO" IN HDTV:
The ABC Television Network's HDTV broadcast of "The Tuxedo" will air in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format with 5.1-channel surround and also in Spanish.

A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.
