JENNIFER FINNIGAN, KIMBERLY ELISE, JOHN CARROLL LYNCH AND CHRISTIAN KANE STAR IN "CLOSE TO HOME," A NEW DRAMA PREMIERING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 4 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

"Pilot" -- Jennifer Finnigan ("The Bold and The Beautiful"), Kimberly Elise ("Beloved"), Johan Carroll Lynch ("The Drew Carey Show") and Christian Kane ("Angel") star in CLOSE TO HOME, a new drama that tears away the fa´┐Żade of suburbia to reveal that sometimes quiet and tranquil streets can hide the darkest of crimes, premiering Tuesday, October 4 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Simon West directed the episode from a script by Jim Leonard.

Annabeth Chase (Finnigan) is a young, aggressive prosecutor with a perfect conviction record who tries the cases that take place in her own backyard. Returning to work after having her first child, Annabeth is ready to take on the most difficult cases, fueled by her passion to protect her community and her family. Challenging Annabeth's legal strategies is her new boss, Maureen Scofield (Elise), a no nonsense lawyer not afraid to push her hard. Leading the team is Steve Sharpe (Lynch), who is one of Annabeth's biggest supporters, but at the same time is concerned about how her cases will play in the media. Annabeth's husband, Jack (Kane), is devoted to his family and is a rock for her to lean on when the challenges of being a working mother fighting crime start to infringe on their life.

In the premiere episode, a mother confesses to setting fire to her home while she and her children were locked inside. The mother tells Annabeth that she committed arson as a cry for help because her husband was physically and mentally abusing her entire family. Meanwhile, Maureen tells Annabeth to dump the case when she can not find a corroborating witness to back up the woman's far-fetched story.
