PREMIERE

HOW TO GET THE GUY PREMIERES MONDAY, JUNE 12 ON THE ABC TELEVISION NETWORK

How to Get the Guy, a romantic reality series that follows the trials and tribulations of love as seen through the eyes of four young, attractive and available women who are looking for Mr. Right, premieres MONDAY, JUNE 12 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The show is from Emmy Award-winning producers David Collins and David Metzler (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.)

Shot docu-soap style at over 150-locations throughout San Francisco, the one-hour series will follow four single women over six episodes as they take hold of their own romantic destinies and declare to the world that they are ready, willing and able to do anything and everything they have to in order to find true love.

Accompanying Alissa, Anne, Kris and Michelle on their journey are two Love Coaches, Emmy-winning writer and award-winning journalist Teresa Strasser and well-known television host JD Roberto. Lending the he said/she said perspective to the womens search, Strasser and Roberto will guide each lady throughout a series of events that ultimately leaves them learning more about love than any of them thought possible.

In the premiere episode, Teresa and JD take the ladies to San Franciscos Monster Park, where they pledge to get in the game and get serious about finding not just a guy, but the guy. Later the love coaches spend a little time with girl next door Anne, giving her tips on dropping the hanky, or how to show available men shes interested; support Alissa, a spiritual massage therapist, as she meets a guy who is about to ask her out; try to get party girl Kris to take dating a little more seriously; and coax trial lawyer Michelle to be less picky and give a guy --- any guy a chance. The four get to put the advice into play when they go to a signal party, an event chock full of single folks looking to hook up.

Collins and Metzler said: How to Get the Guy is a how to manual come to life! Throughout the series, each woman will exhaust all avenues in their search for the guy and look within themselves to see if they are ready to jump over this emotional hurdle. Together we have created a format where every episode is framed around a different universal rule of love, lending tips and news you can use that the audience can apply to their own real-life romantic adventures.

How to Get the Guy is from Scout Productions, which is currently in production on their fourth season of Bravos Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which has earned them an Emmy and Producers Guild Award. How to Get the Guy is broadcast with Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to airdate.

BIOGRAPHY

TERESA STRASSER

Love Coach on the ABC Television Networks How to Get the Guy

In the entertainment world, Teresa Strasser is a triple threat, having spent her career proving that she can write, host and report.

As a writer, Teresa reached the pinnacle of success when she won an Emmy Award for her work on Comedy Centrals Win Ben Steins Money. Since then she has also written for several other television shows, including Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Outside the realm of television, Teresa is the current Los Angeles Press Club Columnist of the Year (for small newspapers) and has spent the last decade writing a syndicated singles column that has appeared in newspapers all over the country, including The San Francisco Chronicle and The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles. In addition to her singles column, her work has also appeared in the popular Fashion Police section of US Weekly, and she recently became a regular contributing columnist at the Los Angeles Times. On a critical level, the work shes done throughout her career has garnered several journalism awards, including the Rockower Awards for Excellence in both feature and singles writing.

Television viewers know her best as host of the hit TLC design show, While You Were Out, a role that earned her a 2003 Emmy Award nomination. Due to the shows heavy syndication schedule, Teresa has found it difficult to escape her role as makeover maven. To this day she is still asked to redecorate homes by passing motorists and street vendors.

Following her time with TLC, Teresa joined the staff of Good Day New York as a feature reporter, a position that ultimately helped her become the New York correspondent for both Good Day Live and On-Air with Ryan Seacrest. Her other on-air experience includes hosting red carpet coverage for both the Emmy and Tony Awards for the E! Network and TV Guide Channel, respectively, and playing a television reporter on shows like Summerland, Jonny Zero and The Jury. She has also contributed her own blend of unique commentary on numerous specials for the E! Network, including 101 Celebrity Oops and That Was Huge.

Despite all of the success she has achieved throughout her career, Teresa still maintains that her proudest day in show business was dressing up as a Christmas tree for the Country Music Television special, The 20 Merriest Country Music Videos. Ironically the program was filmed on Yom Kippur.
