SINGER MICHAEL FEINSTEIN GUEST STARS AS AN INSPIRING MUSIC TEACHER AND SANDY GOES INTO LABOR - Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman) gets detention when she is late for class after crying about Martin (Tyler Hoechlin) in the bathroom. Unexpectedly, she finds detention is a blast when the teacher in charge (guest star Michael Feinstein) introduces them to the music of George Gershwin. With the music program being cut at the high school, students begin purposely landing in detention so they can discuss music. Meanwhile, The Camdens rally to help a friend of Ruthie's, who is hiding a secret, and Rose (Sarah Thompson) pressures Simon (David Gallagher) to pick their wedding song. Finally, Ruthie is upset when Simon informs her that Martin is attempting to care for Sandy (Haylie Duff) and the baby. Stephen Collins, Catherine Hicks, Beverley Mitchell, Nikolas Brino, Lorenzo Brino and George Stults also star. The episode was directed by Harry Harris and written by Brenda Hampton (#214).
