ROBERT REDFORD AND JAMES GANDOLFINI STAR IN THE GRIPPING PRISON DRAMA, �THE LAST CASTLE,� SATURDAY, JULY 29 ON ABC

Film Will Air in HDTV with 5.1 Channel Surround Sound and Spanish Audio

Robert Redford (�The Horse Whisperer�) and James Gandolfini (�The Sopranos�) go head to head in the gripping prison drama, �The Last Castle,� airing in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP as the �ABC Saturday Movie of the Week,� JULY 7 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Redford portrays Lt. General Eugene Irwin, a highly respected and much decorated soldier who has been court-martialed and confined to a maximum security military penitentiary. The warden at the facility is Colonel Winter (Gandolfini), who runs the place with a menacing command and an iron fist, but who has nothing but respect and admiration for General Irwin at the outset. However things between the two take a turn for the worse once the General begins to realize the unrestrained nature of Col. Winter�s tyranny in the prison.

Winter�s respect quickly turns to fury when he�s confronted by Irwin about his methods. In the turmoil that ensues, Irwin starts to organize his fellow inmates to possibly take over the prison.

�The Last Castle� stars Robert Redford as Lt. General Eugene Irwin, James Gandolfini as Colonel Winter, Mark Ruffalo (�Rumor Has It,� �Just Like Heaven�) as Yates, Steve Burton (�General Hospital�) as Capt. Peretz and Delroy Lindo (�Domino,� �Sahara�) as General Wheeler.

The film, released in 2001, was directed by Rod Lurie, with screenplay written by David Scarpa and Graham Yost.
