Katie Couric is scheduled to speak with President George W. Bush at the White House for an interview to be broadcast during the CBS News primetime special, FIVE YEARS LATER -- HOW SAFE ARE WE?, anchored by Couric--on Wednesday, Sept. 6 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The primetime special is part of CBS News' division-wide day of programming marking the five-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa.

FIVE YEARS LATER will feature wide-ranging reports examining the state of the country's homeland security today, the continuing threat of future attacks and how the government is working to prevent them, and how Americans have been coping with lingering fears and anxiety, post-9/11.

Excerpts from the interview will be broadcast on the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH KATIE COURIC on Tuesday (5) and on THE EARLY SHOW on Wednesday (6). Other CBS News broadcasts, as well as CBSNews.com and CBS Radio News will also broadcast excerpts from Couric's interview with Bush.
