Episode No. 1701 Americas Funniest Home Videos kicks off its 17th season with all-new animal antics, practical jokes and hilarious footage of what happens when adults, children and even inanimate objects are at their spontaneous best. The season premiere will also mark the beginning of a year-long promotion, the AFV Dream Vacation Sweepstakes, with magical Disney vacations awarded throughout the year, and a final Grand Prize dream vacation to three Disney destinations awarded in the season finale. AFV, hosted by Tom Bergeron, makes its season premiere SUNDAY, OCT. 1 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television.

Videos included in the season premiere: One really smart dog figures out how to open his own can of food; Cats the musical (montage), with felines at their funniest set to music; a sky-diving man who freaks out before he makes the big leap, and Toms Home Movies. Americas Funniest Home Videos will also debut a stunning new look with the season premiere. Three times a year, AFV awards $100,000 cash grand prizes for the best video submission. Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are celebrating Disney vacation dreams and the magical way Disney cast members, through their renowned heritage of personal guest service, can make them come true.

When AFV has its season finale in 2007, the three $100,000 video prize winners will return to the show to compete for the ultimate Disney dream vacation Grand Prize for four. The Grand Prize vacation begins at the Disneyland Resort with a stay in the new Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel. Next, the lucky winner will sail away aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship to the Bahamas and Disneys Castaway Cay. Final destination will be a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, where the winner will spend a night in the newly-created Cinderella Castle Suite inside the Magic Kingdom Park. In addition to the video prize winner, one lucky viewer entrant will also be selected to win this vacation of a lifetime.
