NEW YORK, NY, October 1, 2007 -- COMEDY CENTRAL plays a mean game of football in "Reel Comedy: The Comebacks." This half-hour special premieres on Tuesday, October 16 at Midnight.

COMEDY CENTRALs "Reel Comedy: The Comebacks is hosted by comedian Paul F. Tompkins, who goes head-to-head with the films star, Dave Koechner, on a football field to celebrate the films riotous spoof of serious-minded sports movies. Tompkins and Koechner engage in some tactile athletics, dish about the films spoofed in the movie and teach each other about good sportsmanship. Tompkins also talks to the films other stars, Matthew Lawrence and Brooke Nevin, about how hard it is to play it straight when doing very stupid things. Fox Atomics The Comebacks opens in theaters on October 19.

Encore presentations air Wednesday, October 17 at Noon and 4:30 p.m., Thursday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. and Friday, October 19 at 3:30 p.m.

"Reel Comedy" is COMEDY CENTRALs series of specials that provide a unique, in-depth look at the hottest new comedic films. Each half-hour special contains COMEDY CENTRALs own original concept and story, interviews with the stars, and clips from the featured film. Past specials have included the casts of Wedding Crashers," "Bewitched," "40 Year-Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up."
