In "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde," the hilarious sequel to the 2001 hit "Legally Blonde," airing as the "ABC Saturday Movie of the Week," AUGUST 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) returns in all her pink magnificence. This time we find spunky and savvy lawyer Elle in the middle of planning her wedding to law professor Emmett Richmond (Luke Wilson), when she suddenly realizes that she has to locate the mother of her pet Chihuahua, Bruiser, in order to include her on the very important guest list. But the news on Bruiser's mom's whereabouts is grim -- she's a captive in an animal testing facility. (Rebroadcast. OAD 3/17/07 on ABC)

Elle heads to Washington, D.C. and teams up with Representative Victoria Rudd (Sally Field) to try to put an end to the testing facility and secure Bruiser's mom's release in time for the wedding. To Elle's dismay, she gets a lesson about the darker side of Washington politics. But true to character, she emerges undeterred, turning to her friends for help in putting together a campaign to stop animal testing once and for all.

"Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde," stars Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods, Sally Field (ABC's "Brothers & Sisters") as Rep. Victoria Judd, Regina King ("Ms. Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous") as Grace Rossiter, Jennifer Coolidge ("For Your Consideration") as Paulette and Bruce McGill ("Elizabethtown") as Stanford Marks.

The film, released in 2003, was directed by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld. The screenplay was written by Kate Kondell and story by Eve Ahlert and Dennis Drake.

"LEGALLY BLONDE 2" IN HDTV:
The ABC Television Network's HDTV broadcast of "Legally Blonde 2" will air in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio.
