"BEWITCHED" CASTS ITS MAGIC AS
THE "ABC SATURDAY MOVIE OF THE WEEK,"
"Bewitched," the magical comedy co-starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell, airs as the "ABC Saturday Movie of the Week," AUGUST 18 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The film, nominated for a Teen Choice Award in 2005, will be broadcast in HDTV format with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio.
Inspired by the classic television series of the same name, "Bewitched" pays tribute to the series in the story of egocentric movie star Jack Wyatt (Will Ferrell), who's trying to revive his career by recreating the "Bewitched" television series. In a chance encounter, he comes across Isabel Bigelow (Nicole Kidman) who, much to his dismay, turns out to be a real witch trying to prove a point by living without using her powers. As the two try to recreate the magic of Darrin and Samantha, they find themselves drawn to each other while surrounded by eccentric characters from both of their very different lives.
"Bewitched" stars Nicole Kidman as Isabel Bigelow/Samantha Stevens, Will Ferrell as Jack Wyatt/Darrin Stevens, Shirley MacLaine as Iris Smythson/Endora, Michael Caine as Nigel Bigelow, Jason Schwartzman as Richie, Kristin Chenoweth as Maria Kelly, Steve Carell as Uncle Arthur, Amy Sedaris as Gladys Kravitz, Richard Kind as Abner Kratvitz, Stephen Colbert as Stu Robinson and David Alan Grier as Jim Fields.
"Bewitched" is produced by Columbia Pictures and Red Wagon Productions. The 2005 film was written, directed and produced by Nora Ephron. (CLOSED-CAPTIONED) (Broadcast in stereo where available)
