SAMANTHA TEAMS UP WITH REGINA FOR A DANCE COMPETITION IN ORDER TO BEAT HER MOTHER'S LIFE-LONG RIVAL, PAULA DRAKE, ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF ABC'S "SAMANTHA WHO?"

Cybill Shepherd Guest Stars as Paula Drake; "Dancing with the Stars'" Mark Ballas Guest Stars as Paula's Dance Partner, Mateo

After a hit-and-run accident left Samantha Newly (Christina Applegate) in an eight-day coma, she awoke with retrograde amnesia, which allows her to fully function in the world but leaves her with no personal memories of her past. As she began her quest to rediscover herself, she learned that she was a horrible person. Vain, selfish and potentially surrounded by far more enemies than friends, she made a conscious decision to improve herself moving forward with the help of her eclectic friends and family, and continues to do so, on the season premiere of "Samantha Who?," MONDAY, OCTOBER 13 (9:31-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

On the season premiere episode, "So I Think I Can Dance," Samantha teams up with her mother for a dance competition in order to beat Regina's nemesis, Paula Drake (Cybill Shepherd). The only problem is that "old" Sam could dance, whereas "new" Sam is gliding on two left feet. Meanwhile, Samantha wants to start enjoying her new, independent life alone in her apartment, but Todd is having trouble finding an apartment of his own. "Dancing with the Stars'" Mark Ballas guest stars as Paula's dance partner.

"Samantha Who?" stars Christina Applegate as Samantha, Jennifer Esposito as Andrea, Kevin Dunn as Howard, Melissa McCarthy as Dena, Tim Russ as Frank, with Barry Watson as Todd and Jean Smart as Regina.

Guest starring are Rick Hoffman as Chapman, Cybill Shepherd as Paula Drake, Sarah Rafferty as Kayla, Mark Ballas as Mateo and Gregory Franklin as announcer.

"So I Think I Can Dance" was written by Marco Pennette and directed by Wendy Stanzler.

"Samantha Who?" was created by Cecelia Ahern and Donald Todd. Todd and Peter Traugott are executive producers. "Samantha Who?," which is filmed in Los Angeles and premiered on October 15, 2007, is from ABC Studios. The series is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. This program carries a TV-PG,L parental guideline.

This episode of "Samantha Who?" will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.
