"I did one stupid mistake. It cost my whole life." -- In Buffalo, New York, a Turkish national traveling with his wife and child tries to emigrate to Canada, but when Customs and Border Protection discover something in hisl past, he may end up separated from his family indefinitely. At Pittsburgh International Airport, a daring M.I.T. student tests the Transportation Security Administration with his trivial pursuit of passenger rights. He refuses to show I.D. at the security checkpoint, playing his own version of "Are you smarter than a TSA officer?" Will he pass, or fail to board? Meanwhile, in El Paso, Texas, Customs and Border Protection officers are alerted when a canine colleague claws at the SUV of a young family crossing from Mexico into Texas. Even the seasoned officers are shocked by what they uncover. In the mail handling facility at New York's JFK airport, CBP officers may have discovered weapons in a package sent from Afghanistan, on "Homeland Security USA," TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Homeland Security USA" has been given unprecedented access to the agencies of the Department of Homeland Security and has the full cooperation of CBP (Customs & Border Protection), including CBP's Border Patrol; ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement); TSA (Transportation Security Administration); USCG (United States Coast Guard) and USCIS (United States Citizenship & Immigration Services).
