THE CURIOUS CASE OF A BRILLIANT SCIENTIST WHO FALLS FATALLY ILL...MEDICAL MYSTERY OR MURDER? -- 48 HOURS MYSTERY -- SATURDAY, MARCH 14

It was supposed to be a casual night out bowling with the guys, when Eric Miller got violently ill. When he was rushed to the hospital by his wife, doctors initially thought he was suffering from a bad case of the flu and after he got better he was released. But just six days later, he was rushed to the hospital again. Tests revealed that Miller had been poisoned with arsenic. With his condition quickly deteriorating, doctors worked tirelessly to save him, but their attempts were unsuccessful. On December 2, 2000, 30 year-old Eric Miller died.

Miller was a promising pediatric AIDS researcher. Science was a passion he shared with his wife, Ann, who worked as a chemist. But their happy life with their newborn baby girl was cut short when Eric died.

With the couple both surrounded by chemicals at work, was it possible that Eric's poisoning was an accident? One cop did not think so. Revealing emails, a suspicious relationship, a shocking suicide and a stunning revelation about when Eric was poisoned set this officer on a determined quest for answers.

For the next five years, this driven investigator along with Miller's family sought the answer to one single question - who killed Eric Miller? Then, a stunning admission would reveal the startling truth behind the medical mystery-turned-tragedy.
