"THE DREW CAREY SHOW" (6:30-7:00 p.m. ET)

"From the Earth to the Moon" (CONTENT RATING TBD)

DREW GETS A PROMOTION As Drew (Drew Carey) arrives at work, he finds out that Mrs. Louder (recurring guest star Nan Martin) randomly chose him to receive a great promotion involving a better job title, more money and overseas travel. Drew's dream will come true if he gets to the boardroom before she reconsiders. Unfortunately, an amazing series of situations delays the increasingly frantic Drew. First, his electronic car-door locks malfunction, and he must squeeze out the window. After falling in an oil slick in the parking structure, he deals with an insecure clerk while buying a shirt and jacket. Then, he prevents Kate (Christa Miller) and an irate customer from getting into a physical fight, which results in his new shirt being torn. After another lengthy negotiation, Drew flees with his new clothes and promptly gets stranded in the faulty elevator before escaping. While running up the stairs, Drew encounters Oswald (Diedrich Bader) and Lewis (Ryan Stiles), who force him to listen to the anguished Lewis' problems. A disgruntled maintenance man blocks the way while he smokes a cigarette. An attractive employee tells Drew that she wants to take him home and have sex right away. Arriving at his desk on the way to the boardroom, Drew is further slowed by the malicious Mr. Wick (Craig Ferguson) and Mimi (Kathy Kinney). Finally, Drew literally bursts through the boardroom door and learns that he's too late. He furiously chastises the board for giving the job to someone else. Impressed by Drew's courage, Mrs. Louder relents and awards him the promotion. Terry Mulroy & Christy Snell wrote the episode directed by Gerry Cohen (#466278).
