JOHNNY DEPP STARS � A small-town auto mechanic named Benny (Aidan Quinn) is devoted to taking care of his mentally ill sister, Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson), who can barely function in the real world, despite being a talented artist. This relatively stable situation is shaken up when Benny is forced to welcome a relative stranger, Sam (Johnny Depp), to his home for a few days. Sam's eccentric ways quickly make an impression, and Joon finds herself drawn to him. Benny and Joon struggle to accept the changes in their relationship caused by the presence of this odd newcomer.
