"20/20" REPORTS ON THE HIGH SOCIETY SCANDAL OF BROOKE ASTOR - HER SON, TONY MARSHALL, FOUND GUILTY OF BILKING HER OUT OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS - AIRING ON ABC FRIDAY, OCT. 9

Astor's 85-Year-Old Son Convicted Today of 14 Criminal Counts, Including Fraud and Grand Larceny

Report Includes Exclusive Interview with Astor's Grandson, Philip Marshall, and an Exclusive Conversation with Tony Marshall and His Wife, Charlene Marshall

In what may be the most famous family feud of the decade, "20/20" reports on a fight to the finish over the fortune of millionaire socialite Brooke Astor. According to her grandson, Philip Marshall, Mrs. Astor -- who was a fixture in the New York social scene and a famous philanthropist who gave away millions of dollars to charities -- was being neglected by her very own son, Tony Marshall (Philip's father). It was also alleged that Marshall was siphoning off Astor's fortune for his own use and tricking her into changing her will while she suffered from Alzheimer's in her final years. Astor died in 2007 at the age of 105. Just today the jury convicted 85-year-old Tony Marshall of 14 criminal counts, including fraud and grand larceny.

For the first time since the five-month headline-making trial began, Philip Marshall talks exclusively to Deborah Roberts about the events that led to his allegations against his very own father. ABC News also has exclusive access to Tony Marshall and his wife, Charlene. Roberts also speaks to Meryl Gordon, author of the biography "Mrs. Astor Regrets." "20/20's" report on the scandal, the headlines and the verdict airs FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Additionally: "One day at a time" has taken on a new meaning for Valerie Bertinelli. Everyone got a fresh look at her recently when the former sitcom star shed weight and posed in a bikini. Now, as she struggles to keep off the weight, Bertinelli speaks candidly to ABC News Contributing Correspondent Chris Connelly about her new perspective on her body, motherhood and raising a teen rock star, her broken marriage to rocker Eddie Van Halen, and former co-star Mackenzie Phillips.

"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas. David Sloan is executive producer.
