ON ABC'S "PRIMETIME: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?," FRIDAY, APRIL 15

When a thin mother urges her overweight teen daughter to have gastric bypass surgery so that she will look better, will any fellow diners say anything? For the first time, Dr. Mehmet Oz joins John Quiones on the program to provide insight into who should consider the procedure. Using hidden cameras, "What Would You Do?" establishes everyday scenarios and then captures people's reactions. Whether people are compelled to act or mind their own business, John Quiones reports on their split-second and often surprising decision-making process. "Primetime: What Would You Do?" airs FRIDAY, APRIL 15 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

This week's scenarios include:

· Gastric Bypass: When a thin mother and her overweight teen daughter discuss gastric bypass surgery for the teen, will any fellow diners say anything? Will it matter who is pushing for the potentially dangerous surgery, the mom or the daughter? To provide insight, "WWYD" is joined by renowned heart surgeon and television host Dr. Mehmet Oz.

· Elderly Worker: With the state of the current economy, a growing number of senior citizens are being forced to re-enter the job market. So "WWYD" goes to a busy gourmet food store to observe two senior citizens on their first day on the job behind the register. But, due to a computer problem of our making, the seniors can't get the scanner to work. As a line begins to form, will customers become impatient and assume the delay is a result of our seniors' age, or will they show compassion and understanding? When an annoyed customer mutters stereotypical remarks about the elderly, will anyone come to the seniors' defense?

· Sobriety: A woman is celebrating her one year of sobriety at a restaurant/bar with a couple of friends, toasting with non-alcoholic beverages. Once her friends depart, the woman immediately goes to bar and asks for a double vodka, but is denied. Will any bystanders take her money to buy her a drink, helping her fall off the wagon? What if it's a man celebrating his sobriety? Video Preview: http://abcnews.go.com/WhatWouldYouDo/video/recovering-alcoholic-asks-drink-13370525

· Retail Employee Abuse: Is the customer always right, even when they're clearly wrong? A high maintenance female shopper in a women's clothing store is overly demanding and outright rude to the store's hard working employee. Whether it's prices, styles or service, there's no satisfying her. Will other customers step in to stop the abusive behavior? What if the store's manager intervenes and sides with the customers, based on her fabricated account of what transpired... even firing the employee? Will witnesses set the manager straight and save the employee's job?

"Primetime: What Would You Do?" has won awards from the Chicago International Television Festival, and the Avon Foundation's 2006 Voice of Change award for exposing "injustice and wrongdoing against women and bringing the message of domestic violence to the mainstream." The Columbia Journalism Review has called the program "a Candid Camera of Ethics." David Sloan is executive producer and Danielle Baum Rossen is senior broadcast producer of "What Would You Do?"
