VANS' FRIENDSHIP WITH A BOMB BLAST VICTIM RAISES DOUBT ABOUT HIS LOYALTY, ON ABC'S "COMBAT HOSPITAL"

"Shifting Sands" -- Vans' allegiance is suspect when one of his friends is brought in after a bomb blast. Is the patient more than just an innocent bystander? "Combat Hospital" airs TUESDAY, AUGUST 16 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Combat Hospital" stars Elias Koteas as Colonel Marks, Michelle Borth as Canadian surgeon Dr. Rebecca Gordon, Luke Mably as neurosurgeon Dr. Simon Hill, Deborah Kara Unger as Australian Army psychiatrist Major Grace Pedersen, MD, Terry Chen as trauma team leader Captain Bobby Trang and Arnold Pinnock as Commander Will Royal, Chief of Nursing.

Guest starring are Tim Rozon as First Sergeant Marcus Xinico, Asim Wali as Kamaal Sodaba, Mena Massoud as Salman Zawab, Peter MacNeil as General Hunnable and Chris Owens as Sergeant Major Gaestner

"Shifting Sands" is directed by Helen Shaver and written by Angus Fraser.

"Combat Hospital" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.
