05/02/2012 (10:00PM - 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : THE SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT MUST CONTEND WITH A NEIGHBORHOOD VIGILANTE GROUP A string of rapes in West Soho inspires a group of vigilantes to organize against both neighborhood crime and the NYPD. While Reporter Dennis Griscomb (guest star Gavin Lee) takes every opportunity to publicly criticize police efforts, the SVU squad struggles to find a lead in the case until one of the vigilantes is attacked. As the other detectives fight for control over the investigation and angry citizens, Amaro (Danny Pino) is distracted by the suspicion that his wife (guest star Laura Benanti) is seeing another man (guest star Dominic Fumusa.) Also starring Mariska Hargitay (Detective Olivia Benson), Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Dann Florek (Captain Donald Cragen), Richard Belzer (Sergeant John Munch), and Kelli Giddish (Detective Amanda Rollins).

DESCRIPTION:
(from NBC's press release, April 2013) NBC has announced the renewal of five key drama series for the 2013-14 season: "Revolution," "Chicago Fire," "Parenthood," "Grimm" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." All have been given 22-episode orders. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will enter its 15th season for NBC. The series chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Television. Dick Wolf is creator and executive producer. Warren Leight, Julie Martin and Peter Jankowski are also executive producers. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" originals this season have improved the time period versus year-ago results by 70 percent in adults 18-49 ("live plus same day") and are building on the time slot's lead-in by 31 percent in 18-49 and 70 percent in total viewers.
