05/29/2012 (10:00PM - 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : INSPIRED BY THE CLASSIC GRIMM FAIRY TALES - NICK BURKHARDT'S LIFE IS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN WHEN HIS FAMILY'S LEGACY IS REVEALED - KATE BURTON GUEST STARS - After the mysterious brutal attack of a local college co-ed, Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) discovered he is descendant of an elite line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms," charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world. As he tries to hide the dangers of his new found calling from his fianc�, Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch), and his partner, Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby), he becomes ever more entrenched in the ancient rivalries and alliances of the Grimm world. With help from his reluctant confidant, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), a reformed Grimm creature himself, Nick must navigate through the forces of a larger-than-life mythology. Reggie Lee and Sasha Roiz also star.

DESCRIPTION: (from NBC's press release, April 2013) NBC has announced the renewal of five key drama series for the 2013-14 season: "Revolution," "Chicago Fire," "Parenthood," "Grimm" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." All have been given 22-episode orders. "Grimm," inspired by the classic Grimm Brothers' fairy tales, is a Universal Television and Hazy Mills production. The series was created by Stephen Carpenter, David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf. Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner and Norberto Barba also serve as executive producers along with Greenwalt and Kouf. "Grimm" is Friday's #1 series in adults 18-49 and is up versus one year ago by 14 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 2.4 vs. the year-ago 2.1, "most current") and is up 12 percent in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 5.2 million).
