CHRIS POWELL HELPS 28-YEAR-OLD MICHAEL SHED SOME OF HIS NEARLY 500 LBS AND GAIN A CHANCE AT LOVE, ON ABC'S "EXTREME MAKEOVER: WEIGHT LOSS EDITION"

"Michael" - Michael is 28 years old and has never been in a relationship or even kissed a girl. This small business consultant from Tarpon Springs, Florida weighs 493 lbs and can't remember a time when he wasn't obese. He wants to share his life with someone special and eventually raise a family, but his weight issues have destroyed his confidence about his romantic prospects. Fortunately Michael is part of a loving, tight-knit Greek family and lives close to his relatives, but he sabotages his chances at a healthier lifestyle by dropping by his mother's and aunt's for multiple meals in addition to the ones he has in his own home. His brother, who shares a home with him, marvels at Michael's third "dinner" of the day, but privately worries that eventually Michael's weight issues will kill him prematurely. Trainer and transformation specialist Chris Powell commits to helping Michael lose weight, but also puts him on the path to love by getting him a professional matchmaker. In an inspiring development, Michael's entire family commits to losing 500 pounds, and by the end, the results of Michael's journey and his family's are revealed, on "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" SUNDAY, JULY 1 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
