12/26/2012 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : ONE OF BENSON'S (MARISKA HARGITAY) SOLVED CASES IS REOPENED, AND THE SUBSEQUENT LEGAL BATTLE CAUSES FRICTION BETWEEN EXECUTIVE ADA DAVID HADEN (GUEST STAR HARRY CONNICK HR.), BAYARD ELLIS (ANDRE BRAUGHER) AND BENSON. MARKS CONSUELOS ALSO GUEST STARS.
A rape victim is brought to the hospital after a harrowing hours-long ordeal, and Benson (Hargitay) recognizes the suspect's M.O. from a case she solved eight years ago. The jailed rapist confessed to Benson after a tough interrogation but has been claiming his innocence ever since his conviction. The SVU squad is forced to reopen Benson's old case to determine if they are dealing with a copycat or a case of wrongful imprisonment. As Benson's detective work is challenged, her personal relationship with Executive ADA Haden (Connick) is also placed in jeopardy when Counselor Bayard Ellis (Braugher) gets involved. Also starring Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Dann Florek (Captain Donald Cragen), Danny Pino (Detective Nick Amaro) and Kelli Giddish (Detective Amanda Rollins.)

DESCRIPTION: (from NBC's press release, April 2013) NBC has announced the renewal of five key drama series for the 2013-14 season: "Revolution," "Chicago Fire," "Parenthood," "Grimm" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." All have been given 22-episode orders. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will enter its 15th season for NBC. The series chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Television. Dick Wolf is creator and executive producer. Warren Leight, Julie Martin and Peter Jankowski are also executive producers. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" originals this season have improved the time period versus year-ago results by 70 percent in adults 18-49 ("live plus same day") and are building on the time slot's lead-in by 31 percent in 18-49 and 70 percent in total viewers.
