TEXT MESSAGES CONFIRMS A DRUG TRANSACTION ON AN ALL-NEW "COPS" SATURDAY, MARCH 30, ON FOX

Officers from the Newport News Police Department in Virginia put a stop to a pursuit in progress and deal with an unstable suspect who claims to have called the police for assistance. Next, a routine traffic stop in takes a turn when officers from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office find a bag of marijuana and evidence of a pending transaction through text messages. Finally, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department respond to a domestic violence call after a man and his stepson engage in a heated verbal argument in the all-new "Coast to Coast" premiere episode of COPS airing Saturday, March 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (from Spike TV's press release, August 2013) "Cops" is debuting its 26th season on its new home, Spike TV. One of the longest running series in television history, "Cops" will keep its long-held Saturday night timeslot at 8PM ET/PT. The September 14 premiere episode will ride along with law enforcement officers in Stockton, CA, Sarasota County, FL and Amarillo, TX. "Cops" allows viewers to ride along with the men and women of law enforcement every week as they take on everything from domestic disputes to car chases. Created by John Langley, the ground-breaking series premiered on March 11, 1989, and has aired over 900 new episodes. The show has followed officers in 140 different cities in the United States and in Hong Kong, London, and the former Soviet Union.
